Research Proposals Requesting Sponsorship
The following proposals are among those requesting
grants of the DreamScience Foundation or any other granting foundation that
is able to support them. These will be considered for Foundation grants
however since full or partial funding is not guaranteed, other oranizations
are invited to help support these worthwhile efforts. Please contact the

Dreams of Artists Research Proposal:

My name is Rose Seidibalieva. I am graduating
from Psychology Department of American University in Central Asia.
I have conducted the research on artists' dreams for my diploma project. The
research goal was to do quantitative analysis of artists' dreams and compare
these results with the results of a control group. This study revealed that
artists have more complex, vivid, detailed dreams, and their dreams are more
emotionally intensive, with statistically significant results. The data
analysis was done in SPSS program. In order to complete the research I
designed original method of quantitative dream analysis.
The number of participants in this study was 40: 20 artists and 20
office-workers working in State Statistical Committee as a control group.
overall around 160-170 dreams have been gathered and analyzed.
This research is unique, since it has been done for the first time in
Kyrgyzstan and in Central Asia. At first, my department had some doubts, but
after I defended my thesis project, they gave this research a high praise.
I want to expand this research and to involve more than 100 artists and the
same with the control group. It will be around 400-500 dreams from each
group. Overall 900-1000 dreams, that's a great number, I think.
I am looking for any organizations and
individuals who might be interested in sponsoring/giving a
grant for this research. The duration of the research will be 8 months. The
Budget will be this:
I month - 700$; 400$ - researcher, 200$ -
assistant, 100 - expenses
II month - 700$; 400$ - researcher, 200$ - assistant, 100 - expenses
III month - 500$; 400$ - researcher, 100 - expenses
IV month - 500$; 400$ - researcher, 100 - expenses
V month - 500$; 400$ - researcher, 100 - expenses
VI month - 500$; 400$ - researcher, 100 - expenses
VII month - 500$; 400$ - researcher, 100 - expenses
VII month - 500$; 400$ - researcher, 100 - expenses
VIII month - 500$; 400$ - researcher, 100 - expenses
Total - 4400$
I need assistant during first two months to collect dreams.
These are the minimal possible costs for doing this research, at least as I
estimate. I have a great desire to do this research. Of course, the sponsor
will have the right for the research and its results. I'd like to thank you
